We made it! Our travel time from Ogden to Barcelona was about 22 hours. We were at the mission office for only an hour to receive our assignment over ZOOM from Presidente Villar and to scan documents, receive our Spanish phone numbers, etc.
We were then whisked off to Valencia (a 4 hour drive) for a Zone Conference. With the influx of missionaries recently, the mission went from 3 zones to 7. This conference in Valencia included 3 zones.
This is the nice church/Stake Center where we were able to have Zone Conference and be with our mission President Villar, his wife, other senior couples and about 60 young missionaries.
What a great way to start our service in this mission!
We had two days in Valencia, staying in a nice hotel.
So, after Zone Conference we did some sightseeing.
We visited “Old Town” Valencia.
This is inside a spanish Cathredal over 800 years old.
We discovered that in Europe trees can grow in the middle of the road.
This was our first sight of our area.
We have been assigned to serve on the island of Mallorca.
Our area consists of 3 islands – Menorca, Ibiza and Mallorca.
We live in the middle of the big city of Palma on the beautiful island of Mallorca.
(A view out our window from the 4th floor)
Our calling is to serve with the Young Adults.
There are 7 branches on these 3 islands.
This is Richard’s study window. We anticipated that many of the youth would speak English, but few do. Thus, we need to restore our Spanish skills quickly!
We will try to send updates as frequently as possible. (WiFi and internet issues-haha)
We Love you all!
